Animation: Bringing a drawing to life

I've always wanted a career in animation. Ever since I picked up my first crayon and doodled my first scribble, I wanted to bring a drawing to life. I know that it'll take lots of patience, endurance, and hard work to get there, but if it's something that I want to do, and something that I do because I love it, it won't matter how hard I have to work to get to where I want to be.

I was surfing around the internet today and came across an interview with Mr. Greenblatt about Chowder, and he provided some inspirational closing words that kinda caught my eye...

"Draw every single day. Never stop drawing. You can never draw enough, and you can never be good enough (laughs) in the sense that I mean...you know, never think that you've learned everything. There's always more to learn and you can always be better and just draw everything. The more versatile you are, the better you have a chance of getting a job."

Indeed, indeed. I think I love you, Mr. Greenblatt. :3
I know I'll make you proud someday. I'll show you what I know I can become.

Comicon

I wish I could go to Comicon someday. I found out that Mr. Greenblatt and part of his posse was there signing autographs and making personalized sketches and such for people.

And they also gave out these really sweet Chowder pens that I wish I also had.

Well, maybe someday I'll have enough money to go to cool places like that... I'd be blushing sweating all over the place. I'd look like a wet strawberry or something. Not like I'd know, but that's what I would probably do if I saw/met somebody famous like Greenblatt. *sits in a corner and weeps*

Anyways, I found this thing on Google. I'm not sure if it's a really good CG image or some kind of figurine... but I want it. Real bad.

Anyways, yeah... Peace out.

Promos

I've been surfing around the blogs of the crew of Chowder and found that they get some really cool promotional items which are only given to employees apparently. The Chowder hat and Chowder cookie jar (which, according to Serapio Calm, are really too small to hold cookies but perfect for Dove chocolates) are the only ones I've found so far, but they're really cool. Those things should be really sold in stores, or at least the CN online shop. They'd make a killing off those things! But no, they decided to keep that stuff to themselves.
Mr. Greenblatt himself said, "...but that's not up to me, and it may be discussed in a future post titled 'Cartoon Network: We Don't Like Money.'"

The Chowder hat (photo from Greenblatt's blog):

I love how it looks like Chowder's eating your head. It's adorable!

And two shots of the Chowder cookie jar. (photos from Serapio Calm's blog):

I want this so bad. I'd kill for it. :3

To the ocean

My family and I are getting ready to go to Corpus Christi, Texas on Friday for about a week. I'm sure we'll see all kinds of generic travel sites around there... like the Alamo. And I learned that it has no basement (poor reference to that one Peewee Herman movie...). But my parents said that we'd go see some dolphins or something. I'll make sure to bring a camera and take a bunch of pictures. I should also take my sketchbook and fill it with Chowder doodles. That show completes me, I'm telling you! Plus, Shnitzel is... amazing. I love to draw him. He's gotta be the greatest rock monster in existence. All his... Radda-ing. It drives me crazy. But I love him. :3

That kinda reminds me that I should post some of my drawings on here. That'd be kinda cool.
Yeah. I wanna be cool like Mr. Greenblatt and his... posse. They do that kinda stuff too. I wanna hang with the cool kids! D:

Home again

Today I came home from an overnight stay at a Harrah's casino hotel. My dad got a free room and my family and I stayed there overnight. It was fun to get out of the house and finally do something. Our pool is being... "renovated" this summer, so I'm glad we were able to swim at the pool.
Mom and dad let me stay up in the room by myself for a little peace and quiet while they took my siblings out for a bit. I turned on the TV and flipped the channel to Cartoon Network just in time for my daily dose of Chowder. I found that I can't live without a little bit of "radda" in my day.
